Summary

  • Returning to Earth in a sub-orbital jet, that is hit by a ‘lightening bolt’ that renders everyone unconscious, Earth’s President is teleported from the jet onto a mock-up jet in space where the Doctor is waiting for her. Having disabled the scanners (by using a bucket), the Doctor wins the President’s trust when he safely takes her aboard the TARDIS which she recognises from reports in the Nixon Files. The Doctor explains that the President has been ‘borrowed’ by the Daemervoids who are planning to invade Earth. Before they invade they plan to use a mind-probe on the disorientated President to assess Earth space defence codes. But the Doctor has a plan, and fitting a Tri-D Holomovie disc around her neck sends her back to her seat and tells her to play along and not to resist the probe. The unsuspecting Daemervoid, scan the President’s brain for knowledge of Earth’s defences and are shown that the Earth is defended by an army of four million K-1 Robo-Warriors and 1,000 Devil Wing starfighter squadrons! Deciding they would be beaten, the Daemervoids decide on a hasty retreat and withdraw immediately returning the President to her jet before there is any retaliation. Onboard the jet the crew awake to find the TARDIS onboard and the President with a surprise guest who is asking about the chance of tea and Jammie Dodgers explains how the Holomovie disk, with its special effects fooled the invaders!

References

Notes

  • The Doctor tries to persuade the President to go with him to visit “the little boys’ room” (UK reference to the toilet) by assuring her “Honestly, it’s bigger inside than you’d think” (… because that’s where he has managed to land the TARDIS!)
