Broadcast date
No offence to "Den of Geek", or to John Barrowman for that matter, but we cannot possibly suggest any broadcast dates for Series 4 at this time. They don't even have a production schedule yet. 23skidoo 00:48, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
Cartmel?
http://www.janetfillingham.com/writersdirect/documents/AndrewCartmelcv_001.pdf
Says Andrew Cartmel is writing "The Jinx" for series 4. Should it go in the rumours folder, or the official writers folder? N3onkn1ght 04:13, January 24, 2010 (UTC)
- Better not either. Just because a script has been submitted or commissioned doesn't mean it'll get made. See Stephen Fry and Moris Farhi. 23skidoo 03:54, February 7, 2010 (UTC)
- Well, it's definiteluy not going to be calle dthe Jinx, according to the list. So probably not. 86.142.60.166 18:48, May 12, 2011 (UTC)
Article premature?
I'm starting to wonder if the article is premature. Barrowman (per [1]) appears to be recanting whether there will be a Series 4. If he's doing Desperate Housewives he might not be available, and there's also the question of an American series. I'm not quite read to toss a proposed deletion tag on this, because there is some information to be had (i.e. the Cartmel item above), but there is a lot of unsourced speculation here, too. We should seek consensus but I would be happy to perhaps condense this all down into a subsection of the main Torchwood article until the BBC actually announces whether it's making it. We know Sarah Jane is going into production, but there's been little said for certain about Torchwood. 23skidoo 03:53, February 7, 2010 (UTC)
Confirmed
I've added that the BBC has confirmed this series, and that it isn't a US remake but instead will be a new series that will feature the original team in the US and elsewhere. --Golden Monkey 17:53, June 7, 2010 (UTC)

Article needs to be updated
As an unregistered user I can't add this info myself, but the article needs to be updated to indicate the casting of Mekhi Phifer as Rex (per the LA Times' Zap 2 It news page here). 68.146.64.9 15:09, December 14, 2010 (UTC)
Bill Pullman
Bill Pullman has been cast as Oswald Jones, and the article announcing his cast also seems to say he's a series regular now. [2] --Golden Monkey 23:59, December 15, 2010 (UTC)
Some state-side filming will take place in or around Los Angeles
So, I don't have edit privileges, so I'd love if someone could add this to the rumors or production section. I took these photos today, 5/2/2011 (2/5/2011 for us in the USA). These were taken in a furniture liquididator's shop that rents props for movies/TV. http://www.flickr.com/photos/27674962@N02/5419083965/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/27674962@N02/5419687082/ So, some filming of a "nurses station" will take place somewhere near LA (no way they ship rented office chairs more than 50 miles just to film a nurses station". Presumably more shooting will take place in LA. Adam Berman 21:35, February 5, 2011 (UTC)
John Hart is a rumour
James Marsters has revealed that he is keen to reprise his role as Captain John Hart in the new series of Torchwood.
A fourth series of the Doctor Who spinoff is currently in production as part of a deal between BBC Worldwide, BBC Wales and US network Starz.
The actor told io9: "Russell [T. Davies is] over here [in LA] trying to get an American version of it done. If he doesn't call me, I am going to find him."
He added: "I'm into it, just ask Russell."
Marsters also confirmed his return to Smallville for the show's final season. However, he admitted that he has no knowledge of upcoming storylines.
"I assume [Clark is] going to kick my butt in the end," he joked. "He'll melt me or blow me up into the sun, or something!"
He explained that he is equally in the dark with regards to the future of his character Barnabus Greeley on Syfy drama Caprica.
"I have no idea. They tell me just as much as anyone has ever told me on television, which is nothing!" he quipped.
- It a rumour. He wants to return, so we add it to the Series page. If he is return, we add it to the cast list. It's a rumour that is circulating about the Series, so we add it to the Series page. Mini-mitch\talk 19:14, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
- He says he wants to return to the series. Nobody is saying that he will be returning. If someone said that he said he was returning, then that would be a rumor. However, that is not what is here. He is saying that he wants to return. He is not saying that he will return. It is not a rumor. Period. So I remove it from the Series page. --Bold Clone 19:16, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
- If he was returning is would be fact and added to the cast list; hence not a rumour. He wants to return, so it's a rumour. It's no different to the Martha Jones, Ianto and Alonzo Frame rumours. Mini-mitch\talk 19:19, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah your right there in fact, the rumour section is where it should go if it were to be included on the series article. I still believe we should stick it in the behind the scenes section of John Hart though. --Revan\Talk 19:22, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
- I agree with Revan; the disputed section is not a rumor, but a note. The section should be renamed as either "rumors/notes", or be split into a "rumors" section and a "notes" ssection. If he said he was returning, then it would be considered a rumor until the episode featuring him aired, right? That or it would be a rumor until the BBC officially released the info. Until the BBC officially releases the info, any claim that he is returning is to be treated merely as a rumor. However, that is not what we have here. What we have here is a "Gee, I wanna come back." That is simply an actor expressing his desire to return. If Tennant said "Gee, I wanna come back for a future series", would you automatically place him in the rumors list for Series 6 or claim that he might be returning for Series 7? No, of course not. You would know better than to do that. Just because he says he wants to return is just that: he says he wants to return. Nothing more. I cannot see how you are making the leap from "Gee, I wanna come back" to "Supposedly he is coming back." Care to explain a little bit more, because I am just not getting your argument. --Bold Clone 19:30, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
- So you think a rumour is confirmed fact? Cause it's not. What you want is the BBC to confirm he is returning. If they did confirm his return, it would no longer be a rumour. He wants to be invloved in he new series, which makes it a rumour about the new series. Why don't we remove all the rumour of all the series page because the source says might or maybe or thinks. Would do it? NO. because that is what a rumour is. A maybe, a might a think, all with a sited source. Which this has. This has no difference to any other rumour on this site. Mini-mitch\talk 19:39, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
- Hardly. A rumor is an unconfirmed fact. You apparantly missed that...This isn't even that; its a confirmed wish. He wants to be invloved in the new series, which makes it an irrelevant statement about the new series until someone says that he is actually returning. According to wiktionary, a rumor is "A statement or claim of questionable accuracy, from no known reliable source, usually spread by word of mouth." This is not that. This is a confirmed statement, with no question of its accuracy, coming from a reliable source. According to this, the "rumor" under discussion is actually a fact, not a rumor. Hmm. What I want is someone to say "hey, maybe he's coming back." THAT would make it a rumor. --Bold Clone 20:11, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
- Source that he wants a return.one, two, three and four. The third calls it's a rumour. I'm happy to re add it with the source that says "rumour",Mini-mitch\talk 20:17, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
- ...No. The third says that there is a rumor of Torchwood moving to the US, and that the return of James Masters is a suggested idea. I don't know if I would call that an unsubstantiated fact. It strikes me as more of a possibility, rather than a probability. I personally think we should leave the statement off the page, but place it on John Hart's BTS section. --Bold Clone 20:25, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
- What about a new section called casting note and put, "James Masters has said he would like to return as John Hart" or something along those lines? That way it's on the Series page but not in the rumour section. Mini-mitch\talk 20:27, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
- "Casting notes" works well with me. Maybe we could even just place all casting-related rumors there too. --Bold Clone 20:30, April 18, 2011 (UTC)
Broadcast date
I noticed that the page states that the broadcast date is the 8th of july on starz and the bbc. Th british airdate on the bbc is now the 14th of july at 9pm, just thought it should be changed.

Andrew Cartmel
- Andrew Cartmel has stated that he will be writing an episode for series 4, calling it "The Jinx" and for it to be broadcast on BBC One. This is yet to be confirmed.
This bit of trivia has been on the page since shortly after children of earth, long before Miracle Day or The New Word were announced, given that 1) All the episode titles have been announced, none of them "The Jinx" and 2) the source has since been deleted, can this bit of "Trivia" be deleted? I've tried to delete it myself, but every time it has been reverted. 2.100.193.204 17:12, June 28, 2011 (UTC)
- I moved it to the Rumours section, where it (and the Bryan Fuller item) are more appropriate, since the writers for Series 4 have now been confirmed. 68.146.71.145 23:30, July 19, 2011 (UTC)

Air on BBC America?
Will this series air on BBC America? cause starz is a subscription channel and it's one t.v. show so i'm not gonna waist my money ... especially if the guy above me is right. so will it be on bbc america? Cory Jaynes 00:57, August 2, 2011 (UTC)
Doubt it. Starz wants to get subscribers, don't they, so why would they let BBC America air there show? If you have Netflix, you can stream the Starz channel to your computer. That's how I've been watching it.Gowron8472 18:11, August 14, 2011 (UTC)
Wait but doesn't BBC own it? Cory Jaynes 21:22, August 14, 2011 (UTC)
So? BBC America doesn't automatically have the right to air anything that the BBC owns. Most of the money for this came from STARZ, so obviously Starz wants to be the one who airs it in the states. Besides, stars is a much better home for the show than BBC America ever was. BBC America completely butchered the show to stick in commercials, and then they edited it down heavily for content. (Honestly, after I first saw Torchwood on DVD, I was surprised by how much they said "fuck.") Torchwood is a Starz show now, so if you want to watch it in America, you have to either subscribe to Stars, watch it on Netflix, or by the DVDs when they come out.Gowron8472 talk to me 04:23, October 3, 2011 (UTC)
To clarify here, The BBC proper holds the rights, but it is only active in the UK. As I understand it, 'BBC America' is just another American TV network that happens to be funded by the BBC's non-UK commercial arm 'BBC worldwide' (it doesn't really have many concrete links anymore; they simply have the knowledge of British TV to market it to you guys). As the BBC, Worldwide and Starz collaborated on this and Starz contributed the lions share of cash they get 'first dibs' in the US. BBC worldwide also partially funded, so it may turn up on BBCA in time - but not until Starz are well done with it. Incidently, part of the reason for the excessive adverts and editing on BBCA is precisely because of the commercial nature of the network - unlike the proper beeb (which doesn't do ad breaks or savage editing), BBC worldwide no longer recieves any UK money so has to make it through other methods; hence why a lot of shows that it the UK would be considered competitors to the BBC often show up on BBC America. Let's face it - this isn't the first time BBC Intellectual property has been 'sold off' to fund a return lol Baziel talk to me 05:24, October 3, 2011 (UTC)
Aliens and Enemies
Firstly, why is the woman in Shanghai called 'The Mother Collasanto'? As an important figure within the families, I can understand being called 'The Mother', but the Collasanto family had nothing to do with the miracle, as the families refused to have anything to do with Angelo.
Secondly, Captain Santos wasn't an enemy, he was loyal to Rex and Esther, it was merely one of his soldiers who was loyal to the families, and therefore an enemy.

Article name
Shouldn't the article be named 'Miracle Day (Torchwood serial)'? Same goes for 'Series 3 (Torchwood)', that should be named 'Children of Earth (Torchwood serial)'. Rassilon of Old (Talk - Contribs) 06:47, September 12, 2011 (UTC)
- No need. Torchwood: Miracle Day and Torchwood: Children of Earth already redirect to the series 4 and 3 articles. Digifiend 01:49, September 19, 2011 (UTC)
- It doesn't matter, it isn't called Series 4 (Torchwood), it's called Miracle Day, and so the actual title of the article should reflect this. Rassilon of Old (Talk - Contribs) 05:40, September 19, 2011 (UTC)
- It's called both. Yes, it's subtitled Miracle Day, but this is no different to Power Rangers for example - Power Rangers Zeo was season 4 of Power Rangers. The seasons have individual names but are part of the same show. Likewise, Torchwood Miracle Day is Torchwood series 4. The names don't need changing. Digifiend 00:24, September 20, 2011 (UTC)
- It is not called both. It is not 'subtitled' Miracle Day. It is entitled Torchwood: Miracle Day. On advertisements, was it called Torchwood Series 4? No, it was called Miracle day in all of the promotional and marketing material. The name of the show is called Torchwood: Miracle Day, not Torchwood Series 4. The names do need changing. And Power Rangers is completely irrelevant, this is Torchwood, not Power Rangers, a completely different television series with different production. Rassilon of Old (Talk - Contribs) 04:27, September 20, 2011 (UTC)

- I was just using that as a comparison. The point is, Series 4 is a perfectly valid name for this series. There are box sets containing all four series due out. Guess what? CoE and MD are referred to as series 3 and 4! Digifiend 08:59, September 20, 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, it's a valid name, but is it the most valid? No. Of course in box sets containing all four series are going to refer to them as Series 3 and Series 4, but if you look at the individual sets, which I have done, they are called Miracle Day and Children of Earth, not 'The Complete Series/Season 3' or any similar title, because that isn't its name.
