Talk:Jask (The End of Time)

Six years of bad luck

Since the introduction of the audio book series Classic Doctors, New Monsters there has been confusion over if Jask from the End of Time was the same as the one from the Sontaran Ordeal. To solve the problem I tweeted Big Finish and they actually informed me that they are two very different characters with the original Jask actually being called "Jast". I'm not sure where the name "Jask" ever came from as all I can see in the credits is Dan Starkey being listed as "Sontaran". --TazminDaytime 18:44, July 29, 2016 (UTC)TazminDaytime

You didn't really need to contact Big Finish. SPOILER ALERT Jask dies at the end of The Sontaran Ordeal. There's no way these two characters could be the same. CoT 18:48, July 29, 2016 (UTC)
Oh also, I just rechecked the script for the End of Time and Big Finish's twitter are definitely wrong, he's named Jask. CoT 18:52, July 29, 2016 (UTC)
Thank you! I'd already had the climax of the story spoiled (with Jask dying) but I wasn't sure if there was a possibility that Jask #1 was the past version of Jask #2 --TazminDaytime 19:14, July 29, 2016 (UTC)TazminDaytime
The End of Time occurs after the Time War, there's no way this Jask 1 could be the past version of Jask 2. CoT 19:28, July 29, 2016 (UTC)
Possible time travel? Anyway, even if there was time travel involved we'll need to keep the articles separate. --TazminDaytime 19:39, July 29, 2016 (UTC)TazminDaytime

Just want to clarify, for any new users reading this conversation, that Big Finish's comments are not valid sources for in universe articles, which these character pages are. As User:TheChampionOfTime's comments above show, there is adequate in-story evidence that these are two separate characters. This one will be renamed with the proper dab term, and the other one already has a redlink with the proper dab term. Shambala108 05:05, July 30, 2016 (UTC)
