Series 6 of Doctor Who, also known as Season 32 for clarity over Season 6 is expected to air on BBC One around Spring 2011. DWM Issue 419 has confirmed that it has been commissioned by the BBC, and producer Piers Wenger also announced same at the BBC Press Launch for Series 5 in March 2010[1]. Filming is set to start in July 2010. This series will be preceded by a 2010 Christmas Special, of which Steven Moffat shall write.[2]
Cast
It has been confirmed that Matt Smith will return as the Eleventh Doctor[3]. Producers also confirmed that Karen Gillan will return as Amy Pond[4].

It is assumed that the Daleks will appear again, as will the Weeping Angels. The Slitheen will also appear.

Neil Gaiman has confirmed that he is writing an episode for the first half of this series. It is highly likely that Steven Moffat will return as Executive Producer and Head Writer.

Rumours
- The Daleks are presumed to make an appearance due to them appearing in all of the revived series, and their appearance in "Victory of the Daleks" being clear set-up for further appearances. [source needed]
- John Barrowman is rumored to return as Jack Harkness. This is, however, unlikely as Steven Moffat stated that no characters from the Russell T Davies era would return. [9]
- River Song is rumoured to be a full time companion throughout series 6 accompanied by Amy Pond. [source needed]
- Tom Baker is rumoured to return in this series as the Fourth Doctor along with Sarah Jane Smith as a multi-doctor story.[10]
