Grippa was a Fifth Axis assassin sent to the Glass Prison in order to kill Bernice Summerfield's child, so it wouldn't become the child of a prophecy. She helped Benny to get a message out that would delay a Fifth Axis attack. (PROSE: The Glass Prison)
