Science fiction is a popular form of fiction, usually dealing with futuristic or technological themes. H. G. Wells coined the phrase during an adventure with the Doctor. (DW: Timelash)

Popular science fiction television series in England included Nightshade and Professor X, though certainly Babylon 5, Battlestar Galactica and Star Trek were known, as well.
