• The Doctor learns magic tricks from Jasper Maskelyne ("The Ribos Operation").

• The Doctor visits the planet Tigella, where he sees the Dodecahedron and befriends the planet's leader, Zastor. Zastor remembers the Doctor as one who "can see the strings that bind the Universe together, and mend them when they break ("Meglos")."
