Borneo was a large island in the south of Asia.[1] It was a originally rainforested area, (PROSE: A Big Hand for the Doctor) though by the 2040s, Borneo had lost its rainforests and was turned into the East Indies ReVit Zone under the World Zones Authority. (PROSE: Alien Bodies)

Borneo was an island located south-east of the Gulf of Siam, and just to the south of the China Sea. The island of Java was located just to the south of Borneo, while the island of Sumatra was located just to the west. To the east was the island of Gilolo. When the Sixth Doctor took him to Venus, Henry Gordon Jago mistook it at first for Borneo. (AUDIO: Voyage to Venus)
