Sergeant Syre was a member of the police and MI5 response team which guarded the rift which appeared on Tower Bridge in 2023.
He was the one to brief Giles, of P.R.O.B.E., on the situation once he got there. Seeing that the smell of burning bodies from the cars which had been set on fire by the releases of energy from the orb was inconveniencing Giles, Syre also gave him a face mask. (AUDIO: Guardian At The Gate)
