Can it be claimed that this depiction of Yaz is whitewashing? It is, but it currently just says "Oddly, Yaz is depicted as having uncharacteristically light skin." Cookieboy 2005 ☎ 16:08, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
- (I'm essentially asking if it can be mentioned as 'whitewashing' on this page) Cookieboy 2005 ☎ 16:23, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
- Personally, I do not think this is a case of whitewashing. To me, this feels like a production error, probably due to the printing process rendering inks in the wrong shade; you can tell the tones of the skin between Thirteen and Yaz are different. 17:11, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
- About it potentially being a production error: the fact there is one single panel where her skin is suddenly way closer to her actual skin colour makes me unsure. WaltK ☎ 18:42, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
- Whether it's a production error or an intentional decision, it just feels... off to me - and to my mother, too; she couldn't identify who it was. Cookieboy 2005 ☎ 19:53, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
- (also, I had initially only seen 2 images, at this link) Cookieboy 2005 ☎ 20:12, 23 June 2022 (UTC)

- I really do not believe intentional whitewashing would've gotten past the editors and the BBC. Hence why I think it's an error. But it is off, I agree. Perhaps a statement will be issued in the next few days by DWM on Twitter, clarifying the situation? 20:51, 23 June 2022 (UTC)
- I certainly expect they'll say something about it, seeing people's reactions on Twitter (a space they're known to patrol). Cookieboy 2005 ☎ 20:58, 23 June 2022 (UTC)

- So, what was the conclusion to this? Did they release a Twitter statement? BananaClownMan ☎ 07:40, 17 October 2023 (UTC)
