Rumours

  • The remaining Daleks seek Davros' help.
  • Davros will return as the main villain in this episode. Likely, as the Mid Series trailer depicted a Dalek, where the top half is hidden in shadow. Also, a leaked screenshot shows Davros next to a Dalekwith a different manipulator arm.
  • A main character may die, possibly Donna as she does not appear in the Christmas Special. Possibly, as Billie Piper said in a interview that this episode will make you cry.
  • Davros is trapped in the Medusa Cascade (RTD said the Medusa Cascade would "come back to haunt us"), which is the reason the Doctor sealed it during the Time War. Rose finds a way back, and Davros and the Daleks subsequently do the same. Rose amends this at the end of Joruney's End, but not before the Doctor gets hit by a Dalek (YouTube footage shows David Tennant lying on the floor, with Rose by his side)
  • Gwen Cooper has been rumoured to enter the world of Doctor Who for the first time in this episode briefly with Captain Jack, while Ianto Jones is rumoured to appear as well. This will be Eve Myles's second appearance on Doctor Who, her first as a character similar to Gwen, Gwyneth, who appeared in the Series 1 episode "The Unquiet Dead. Gwyneth first opened the Cardiff rift, where Gwen works in Torchwood. Only Gareth David Lloyd has hinted at a cameo, but it's quite possible for Eve Myles to appear as well.
  • Davros is the darkness. This maybe true as everyone is scared of it e.g the Toclafanewhen they tell the Master "the darckness is coming and we have to run and run". and Rose Tyler says the Darkness is coming. While it's certain that the Darkness that Rose is referring to is Davros, the Toclafane were scared because they spent so much time at the end of reality itself where there was only darkness.
  • At the end of this episode The Doctor is injured by some-one or something. At the beginning of The Christmas Special, The Doctor regenerates. This isn't true as David Tennant has signed for the Christmas Special in 2008, and 3 specials in 2009.
  • Rumoured to feature Jenny, the Doctor's Daughter, Luke, Clyde and Maria from The Sarah Jane Adventures and K9.
  • A Red Dalek will appear. This is true, due to it being discovered on the set.
  • The Eighth-Ninth Doctor Regeneration is explained.
  • Donna is hit by a car in a scene near the end of the episode and loses all her memories of travelling with the Doctor, therefore staying on Earth. Likely, as footage from YouTube shows pictures of Donna lying on the ground in front of a car with Rose kneeling at her side. Also, Catherine Tate confirmed she would not appear in 2009.
  • This episode is 60 minutes long. This is possible as Last of the Timelords was 51 minutes and Phil Collinson in DWM 364 said "I'm delighted to announce a special length episode 13. He also said it had an extra weeks filming allocated to it.
  • There has been lots of metions to "the darkness in doctor who". In fact, there WAS meention in series 1, with christpher as the doctor...The epsode with the geth...The things youve seen..THE DARKNESS...

(And yes after that there was a bad wolf refrence) But the darkness in tochwood is death, so prhaps a main chacter may die, or even the doctor?
