Dublin was the capital and largest city of Ireland.
In 989, the Viking Sitric Silkbeard became King of Dublin. Following the first Leinster Revolt in 1000, however, his position was undermined by the political machinations of the Irish-born King Brian Boru of Munster. (BFA: The Book of Kells)
