Born in the same year Doctor Who first aired, Russell T Davies' contributions to Doctor Who are formidable. As executive producer and head writer, he was at the forefront of Doctor Who when it was returned to TV screens in 2005 by BBC Wales. He is the creator of two other Doctor Who-related series: Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures and has written countless hours of other television. Much of what is generally accepted as the modern Doctor Who universe — the Slitheen, the Ood, the Last Great Time War, Martha Jones, Rose Tyler, Donna Noble, the Ninth and Tenth Doctors — were his creations.
