- New Doctor actor Peter Capaldi was filming The Musketeers in Prague when he received a call from his agent who said “Hello, Doctor!”
- Peter Capaldi’s first memory of Doctor Who was probably the Zarbi when he was four.
- The new Doctor had previously been seen at the end of the Christmas Special (The Time of the Doctor), and his eyes had been glimpsed in the Anniversary story (The Day of the Doctor). Peter Capaldi had previously played Caecilius in 2008 (The Fires of Pompeii)
