In 1975, a number of things set in or relevant to the Doctor Who universe were released or published.
- The stage play Doctor Who and the Daleks in Seven Keys to Doomsday toured the UK.
- War of the Daleks was released by Denys Fisher.
- Doctor Who and the Curse of Peladon was first published.
- 4 January - Robot Part Two debuted on BBC1.
- 11 January - Robot Part Three debuted on BBC1.
- 18 January - Robot Part Four debuted on BBC1. Although there were two more UNIT stories over the next year, this episode marked the end of the Doctor's continuous involvement with UNIT.
- 25 January - The Ark in Space Part One debuted on BBC1.
- 1 February - The Ark in Space Part Two debuted on BBC1.
- 8 February - The Ark in Space Part Three debuted on BBC1.
- 15 February - The Ark in Space Part Four debuted on BBC1.
- 20 February - Doctor Who and the Cybermen was first published.
- 22 February - The Sontaran Experiment Part One debuted on BBC1.
- 1 March - The Sontaran Experiment Part Two debuted on BBC1.
- 8 March - Genesis of the Daleks Part One debuted on BBC1. This was the first appearance of Davros.
- 13 March - Doctor Who and the Giant Robot was first published. It was the first novelisation of a Fourth Doctor serial and the first novelisation to be published during the same TV season in which the adapted serial (Robot) was actually broadcast.
- 15 March - Genesis of the Daleks Part Two debuted on BBC1. This saw the first use of a freeze-frame cliffhanger.
- 22 March - Genesis of the Daleks Part Three debuted on BBC1.
- 29 March - Genesis of the Daleks Part Four debuted on BBC1.
- 5 April - Genesis of the Daleks Part Five debuted on BBC1.
- 12 April - Genesis of the Daleks Part Six debuted on BBC1.
- 19 April - Revenge of the Cybermen Part One debuted on BBC1.
- 26 April - Revenge of the Cybermen Part Two debuted on BBC1.
- 3 May - Revenge of the Cybermen Part Three debuted on BBC1.
- 10 May - Revenge of the Cybermen Part Four debuted on BBC1, bringing Season 12 to a premature end following the BBC's decision to reschedule the originally planned season finale, Terror of the Zygons, to the start of Season 13.
- 15 May - Doctor Who and the Terror of the Autons was first published.
- 21 August - Doctor Who and the Green Death was first published.
- 25 August - The Doctor Who Disney Time special was first broadcast.
- 30 August - Terror of the Zygons Part One debuted on BBC1, opening Season 13 and marking the first autumn start for a Doctor Who season since 1968-69. The serial was originally intended to end Season 12, but was pushed back to make a fall season start feasible.
- September - Doctor Who Annual 1976 was published.
- September - Terry Nation's Dalek Annual 1976 was published
- 6 September - Terror of the Zygons Part Two debuted on BBC1.
- 13 September - Terror of the Zygons Part Three debuted on BBC1.
- 20 September - Terror of the Zygons Part Four debuted on BBC1. Ian Marter left the series as a regular with this episode, although he returned a few weeks later for a guest appearance in The Android Invasion. This was also Nicholas Courtney's final regular appearance as Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart; he next played the character in the 1983 serial Mawdryn Undead. Although UNIT returned in The Android Invasion and the Doctor was on a UNIT mission in The Seeds of Doom, this was the last appearance of the Brigadier and marked as the official end of the UNIT era.

- 4 October - Planet of Evil Part Two debuted on BBC1.
- 11 October - Planet of Evil Part Three debuted on BBC1.
- 16 October - Doctor Who and the Planet of the Spiders was first published.
- 18 October - Planet of Evil Part Four debuted on BBC1.
- 25 October - Pyramids of Mars Part One debuted on BBC1.
- 1 November - Pyramids of Mars Part Two debuted on BBC1.
- 8 November - Pyramids of Mars Part Three debuted on BBC1.
- 15 November - Pyramids of Mars Part Four debuted on BBC1.
- 20 November - Doctor Who - The Three Doctors was first published. It was the first novelisation not to use the title form Doctor Who and the .... This was also the first Target Books-commissioned novelisation to feature the First Doctor.
- 20 November - The Doctor Who Monster Book was first published.
- 22 November - The Android Invasion Part One debuted on BBC1.
- 29 November - The Android Invasion Part Two debuted on BBC1.
- 6 December - The Android Invasion Part Three debuted on BBC1.
