Max Schmeling was a German boxer who challenged the world heavyweight champion, the American Joe Louis or the "Brown Bomber" in 1938. That year, they met in New York in a fight witnessed by Cody McBride, who recalled that within two minutes of the first round Schmeling was on the canvas and the Brown Bomber was champion of the world again.
