Skagra's sphere was a unique, floating sphere-shaped device created by the scientists of the Think Tank under the guidance of the megalomaniac Drornidian neurostructuralist Skagra.

The sphere was capable of performing psychoactive extractions, absorbing the minds of living beings and melding them within itself into a gestalt intelligence loyal to Skagra. The process was often fatal, but the sphere was not foolproof, able to be tricked by people with great mental discipline into mistaking a part of their mind, for example a false personality, for the whole. Skagra's intent was to use the sphere to absorb the mind of Salyavin and, with it, his power to implant his mind into other people's. His will would then directly take control of the gestalt, and the sphere would subdivide into many identical, smaller spheres that would allow him to take over the bodies of all living things in the cosmos, forming the Universal Mind. However, his plans were foiled by the Doctor on Shada, and the sphere, after subdividing into a small number of spheres to take control of several Shada inmates, was destroyed.
