Bill and Ted

Bill and Ted was a film which Deborah Castle took the Eighth Doctor to see (PROSE: Father Time) by the year 1989. (PROSE: Trading Futures) The Doctor was inspired by the "flying telephone box" in the film, wishing that he could have one of his own. (PROSE: Father Time)

The full title of the Bill and Ted film the referred to in Father Time is Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.

As hinted at in Father Time, Bill and Ted's time machine has similarities with the Doctor's TARDIS. One 2015 issue of the comic series Bill and Ted's Most Triumphant Return mentions that extraterrestrials copied Bill and Ted's time machine, "albeit with British phone booths" that they "found a way to make bigger on the inside".
