Dazza was a friend of both Larry Nightingale and Mo Rasheed.
In February 2021, Larry was arranging Dazza's birthday party. He hated surprises, though Larry assumed that a keg of Red River's 5.0% Lager would make up for it. He also ordered a vintage disco mirror ball, latex balloons, a rose gold birthday banner and an assorted box of silly string for the party.
On 17 February, Larry's wife, Natasha Nightingale, went missing. Mo offered to take over organising the party wile Larry focused on finding Nats.
When Mo didn't get any response from Larry after a series of texts, he suggested that Larry "ring Dazza or Hamish", if not him.
