Behind the scenes
The droid's name is a pun on that of Davina McCall, the host of the show at the time of Bad Wolf's broadcast. McCall voiced the Davinadroid in Bad Wolf, and later appeared as herself in The Church on Ruby Road [+]Loading...["The Church on Ruby Road (TV story)"], but a link between her and the Davinadroid has yet to be made in-universe.
