Dr.Black was an art expert who was at the museum where a van Gogh exhibition was held. As the Doctor noticed a strange figure in one of the paintings, he came to ask him on the date of the work. From that information, he deduced when to visit van Gogh and save him. Before leaving, Dr Black and the Doctor both complimented each other's bow ties.[1]
