Confucius was a Chinese philosopher.

In the Unbound Universe, the Abbot quoted Confucius to the Third Doctor who was able to finish the quote. The Abbot's initial referral to Confucius as "the Master" initially gave the Doctor alarm, thinking the Abbot referred to the Time Lord.
