Mata Hari

Mata Hari was a Dutch dancer and alleged German spy during the First World War. The Eleventh Doctor had an encounter with her in a Paris hotel room, where she removed her clothes in front of him while he was roasting Crumpets above the fire in the fireplace. The Doctor told Amy Pond and Rory Williams that he found her "very interesting". (WC: Pond Life)

Jo Grant once considered asking the Third Doctor to take her to meet Mata Hari. (PROSE: Come Friendly Bombs)

Cecelia Pollard jokingly suggested that Muriel Joy could be a spy, calling her "the Mata Hari of the pensionable classes". (AUDIO: A Blind Eye)

When accused of rain dancing to summon rain on Quinnis, the First Doctor expressed contempt at the idea, asking "who do you take me for, Mata Hari?" (AUDIO: Quinnis)
