Guide Sensors were a type of human with a special talent for perceiving the universe. They were descended from the first interstellar explorers.

Guide Sensors could plot courses through the universe which nobody else could perceive. It was the Guide Sensors of the Doctor's universe who first mapped out the Million Spheres and discovered the Second Aether. Renark of the Rim was one of these Guide Sensors.

The Eleventh Doctor had the same "talent" as the Guide Sensors. He described this talent as being able to see billions of alternative possibilities stemming from his present, with this being connected to his many travels through the entirety of the future. • The Guide Sensors originate from the novelette The Sundered Worlds in the Michael Moorcock Multiverse. In their original appearance, their talent is the ability to sense any object anywhere in the universe.
