Catherine of Aragon

Catherine of Aragon was the first wife of Henry VIII.

In 1509, Lover attempted to take her place in history by swallowing and impersonating Catherine on the eve of the wedding. She planned on altering time by giving birth to a healthy son who would have many descendants and keep the throne within Henry's family past 1752. Brother Bow ordered Lover to abandon this plan, so she released Catherine and left 1509 with Bow. (PROSE: Nothing Lasts Forever)

She was involved in Missy's plan to befriend several Tudor women in an effort to prevent the reign of James I, who created the charter for St Luke's University, thereby preventing her imprisonment in the Vault. (PROSE: Girl Power!)

Catherine was the mother of Mary I. (TV: The Coach with the Dragon Tattoo) She eventually divorced Henry. (PROSE: The Roundheads)

The Sixth Doctor was in possession of six wedding invitations from Henry VIII. (COMIC: The Gift [+]Loading...["The Gift (comic story)"]) The Second Doctor and Polly counted the wives of Henry VIII using the rhyme "divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived". (PROSE: The Roundheads [+]Loading...["The Roundheads (novel)"])

Behind the scenes

Catherine was played by Annette Crosbie in The Six Wives of Henry VIII, Siobhân Hewlett in Henry: Mind of a Tyrant and Claire Bloom and Kate Duchene in different adaptations of William Shakespeare's Henry VIII.
