You may be looking for Metebelis III or Metebelis crystal.

"Kalacha nee-too webweb!" was Metebelin for "Gosh, it's bigger on the inside!" This was once uttered within the Doctor's TARDIS, by a "twelve-eyed spider" hailing from Metebelis III. (PROSE: The Secret in Vault 13 [+]Loading...["The Secret in Vault 13 (novel)"])

Metebelis III was a favourite planet of the Doctor's, (TV: Carnival of Monsters [+]Loading...["Carnival of Monsters (TV story)"] etc.) known for its Metebelis crystals. (TV: The Green Death [+]Loading...["The Green Death (TV story)"], Planet of the Spiders [+]Loading...["Planet of the Spiders (TV story)"] etc.) The Eight Legs lived here, with their human slaves. While the Third Doctor visited, their speech was translated (TV: Planet of the Spiders [+]Loading...["Planet of the Spiders (TV story)"]) by the TARDIS translation circuit. (TV: The Masque of Mandragora [+]Loading...["The Masque of Mandragora (TV story)"], The End of the World [+]Loading...["The End of the World (TV story)"], The Girl in the Fireplace [+]Loading...["The Girl in the Fireplace (TV story)"], etc.)

Before the arrival of the humans, (TV: Planet of the Spiders [+]Loading...["Planet of the Spiders (TV story)"]) there was already an indigenous intelligent species on this planet. (PROSE: Doctor Who and the Green Death [+]Loading...["Doctor Who and the Green Death (novelisation)"])

There also existed a Metebelis I, II and IV, (GAME: The Edge of Reality [+]Loading...["The Edge of Reality (video game)"]) though Metebelis IV was a barren, untouched paradise (AUDIO: The Vanity Trap [+]Loading...["The Vanity Trap (audio story)"]) with voice eating wombats. (PROSE: It's Raining Gin [+]Loading...["It's Raining Gin (short story)"]) It was once inhabited, however, as an ancient structure known as the Temple of the First was located there. (GAME: The Edge of Time [+]Loading...["The Edge of Time (video game)"])

Behind the scenes

This is one of many modern DWU references to Metebelis III. Jon Pertwee's Third Doctor finally making his way to that planet on-screen marked the culmination of his era.

However, the Eight Legs' language does not seem to have been discussed before. The Metebelin phrase is given a distinctive in-universe pronunciation in Sophie Aldred's audiobook reading of The Secret in Vault 13 [+]Loading...["The Secret in Vault 13 (novel)"].
