Notes

  • This story was recorded on 6-9 February 2024 and 19 February 2024 at the Soundhouse.

    Phase Dalek closer look.
The Dalek renders were provided by James Johnson[1].
    • As with previous renders, Johnson provided a closer look at the Daleks featured on the cover. As noted in the writeup, the Phase Dalek is an experimental prototype from the Dalek Scientific Division, with it being noted that it's shell is uncoated Dalekium. This Dalek does not feature a skirt, but instead claw like appendages tipped with Xandium blades, and a second larger gunstick in place of the normal manipulator arm. Additionally, this Dalek lacks a traditional eyestalk, instead having Chronoceptive vision system, with reticle precision targeting, which is built directly into the dome itself[2].
    • Johnson also noted that the Phase Dalek design was influenced by the Spider Dalek that was to be featured as part of the Leekley Bible concept art[3].
    • Johnson also provided a render of the Special Weapons Dalek. This features a slight tweak from the previous render featured on Victory of the Doctor, with Johnson noting that the Victory version is more akin to a cleaner Asylum of the Daleks era Dalek, whereas the Unknown Soldiers version is more akin to the more weathered Daleks as seen in The Parting of the Ways[4].
