The Howling → "Death" Theory *spoilers inside*
There be spoilers about un-released stories here.
Run back to the forums if you're scared.

In the synopsis for The Impossible Astronaut, and in DWM, it says that one of the main characters - The Doctor, River, Rory or Amy - will die. As in the synopsis for Day of the moon it says the doctor is trapped in the perfect prison, I think that this will be the "death" - The Doctor will appear to die, but is in fact only imprisoned. Does any one else have any others theories about this? The Mind 13:09, April 13, 2011 (UTC)

Maybe it's The Pandorica again? Since The Doctor survived Big Bang Two, there's no reason why The Pandorica shouldn't? Maybe containing a copy of The Doctor as a form of 'reset button' for when he dies? (This only a theory.) Gallifrey102 09:27, April 15, 2011 (UTC)

Moffat said that they are not lying or cheating with this death. That suggests that it won't be like the "deaths" that were common during the 10th Doctor's era, when characters would appear to die, or metaphorically die, and it won't be like Rory or Jack where they die, but come back to life. Since we know that all the characters are in later episodes, the most likely character will be River, and time will be rewritten to erase the events of Silence in the Library. Then, River could appear from an earlier point in her timeline. Of course, it is possible that Moffat was lying when he said he's not lying or cheating.Icecreamdif 23:45, April 14, 2011 (UTC)

Hmmm...it's ture. He has played with our minds before. I must say, I try not to support your argument, but find that I can't help but agree with you. River is the only person likely to die and we know time is going to be re-written, as foretold in Silence in the Library.

I think we've reached a conclusion.

At first I didn't think River would die, but on reading your arguement I have to agree. We have been told numerous times over the last season that "Time can be rewritten", so then the most obvious candidate is River. Unless Moffat is duping us all, and something entirely unexpected happens. It wouldn't be the first time, after all. The Mind 12:08, April 15, 2011 (UTC)

I honestly don't believe River can die. We already know she has died for one thing, and yes the line "time can be rewritten" has been used a lot lately... but let's remember what River said to the tenth Doctor; "Not those times, not one line, don't you dare!" I honestly don't think Moffat would do that. --The Thirteenth Doctor 12:16, April 15, 2011 (UTC)

The problem here is that I'm really drawn between what's likely and what would be exciting. River has been associated with the 'time can be re-written' line, so after all this time, you'd think we'd know who she is. Then again, it would be much more exciting to see an entire season where The Doctor is killed at the beginning and everyone is searching for how and why. Of course, this is unlikely due to the fact that we see him in the trailer for all the other episodes, so I physically can't stop myself form agreeing with the River theory.

So, when it's River that's killed off, we'll know that Icecreamdif predicted it. Well done, in advance. Gallifrey102 12:49, April 15, 2011 (UTC)

It is possible that if River is killed -and I'm not saying she will be - the Doctor will have to somehow "re-write" time, in order to keep the events established in Silence in the Library true.

From the various trailers, spoilers, and rumors that I have read and seen online, my theory is that the doctor will cross his own timeline and Amy will be the one to kill the doctor from the future.24.9.197.4 15:53, April 15, 2011 (UTC)

River didn't tell the Doctor that he couldn't rewrite those times, she just said that she didn't him to. I hope that I am wrong, because I think that it would be taking something away from Silence in the Library, since it would be taking away the concept of the Doctor having always known how she will die, but River does seem like the most likely character to be killed off.Icecreamdif 20:23, April 15, 2011 (UTC)

In the Series 6 trailer, Amy shoots someone and the Doctor goes "NO!" I reckon that she gets posessed by weird moon thing aliens or whatever, so she kills Rory. We know River has to survive so she can die in the Library, and Rory is barely shown in the trailer. Anyone got any-counter arguments apart from "Time can be re-written?" I simply refuse to believe that you refuse to believe Icecreamdif has created an indisputable argument. Gallifrey102 21:17, April 15, 2011 (UTC)
