Elisabeth Sladen (born 1st February 1948, Liverpool, England - 19th April 2011) portrayed the Doctor's companion, Sarah Jane Smith. She made her debut appearance in 1974's The Time Warrior alongside Jon Pertwee's Third Doctor. She went on to assist Tom Baker's Fourth Doctor. In total, Sladen acted alongside nine Doctors thanks to The Five Doctors and Dimensions in Time.
