• Professor Litefoot's father, a Brigadier-General, is part of a punitive expedition sent to China. The Litefoots settle in China afterwards, living there for thirteen years (DW: The Talons of Weng-Chiang).

• The Doctor promised to bring Rose to Naples on Christmas Eve of this year, but instead brought her to Cardiff nine years later (DW: The Unquiet Dead).
