Acromegaly was a human medical condition. The Ninth Doctor, while infiltrating a Bromley hospital in 2005 to rescue a temporally displaced Neanderthal, Das, who had attracted the attention of the military, claimed that he was the country's leading expert in severe acromegaly and Das was obviously in need of his assistance in order to spirit him out of the room with the assistance of Rose Tyler and the nurse Weronika.
