Bizarre Zero was a Doctor Who Adventures comic story featuring the Tenth Doctor and Rose Tyler.

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

Returning to Earth, and the Powell Estate, the Doctor and Rose pay her mum, Jackie, a visit. They find winter has shown up three months early. The flats are covered in snow and ice, inside and out.

They catch Jason Harris, a neighbour from upstairs, running away from the flat. He warns them that four days earlier aliens arrived. They were sensitive to vibrations and took everyone, trapping them in ice somewhere on top of the building. Before he can tell them any more, a snake-like ice creature touches him and turns him to ice.

Chased onto the roof, the Doctor and Rose find a huge ice building housing a weather machine. The entity, having always hidden in the Earth's water is now using it to freeze itself into existence. Rose is trapped in ice.

The Doctor smashes the ice machine. This raises the temperature, destroys the creature and frees all the people trapped in ice, including Rose. As it starts to rain, the Doctor and Rose decide to call in on Jackie for a quick cup of tea and to dry off.

Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • The DWA comic strip adventures were aimed at a younger audience and the artwork and colours were bold and bright, reflecting the tone of the magazine.
  • Self-contained, one part stories were the norm in the early issues, later being expanded to two-parters.
