Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

The cover of TV Comic Annual 1971, featuring Brutus.

Brutus is a character in the Popeye series, where he is a nemesis of Popeye. The clear implication of his appearance in TV Comic's Counter Game is that Popeye left him in the hole after a fight.

Although Brutus was originally intended to be the same character as Bluto, simply having his name changed due to rights issues, the two were later said to be brothers in a comic strip.
