Control was a computer controlling Platform One. It could "speak" to the Steward by producing a beeping sound from the speaker in his office. It could activate recorded messages over the PA system at will. Control normally did as the Steward told it to do, but when Cassandra O'Brien.Δ17's metal spiders overrode the system, Control deactivated the shields. When the Ninth Doctor reactivated Control's common sense, it returned the shields. Control controlled Platform One after that. (TV: The End of the World)
