- Each issue came with a DVD release.
- Reversible DVD sleeves enabled the collector to display one of two designs featuring either the Doctor and his enemies or his companions.

- On the planet Necros, the galaxy's sick and dying come to be frozen in suspended animation until a cure can be found for their condition. When the Sixth Doctor arrives to pay his last respects to old friend Professor Stengos he gets the shock of his life — Stengos has been turned into a Dalek! Davros is up to his old tricks, only this time he plans to harvest humanity in his bid to lead the Daleks to universal domination. Can the Doctor stop him? Or will the dead of Necros be saved by the Daleks themselves?

- Revelation of the Daleks had the working title of The End of the Road.
- 1985 saw the suspension of the series, a "Save Doctor Who" campaign by The Sun and the Daily Star newspapers. A charity single "Doctor in Distress" by the group Who Cares was also released, led by Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant.
- Staal was the first Sontaran on screen to name their home world Sontar.
- Sixth Doctor companion Mel's surname "Bush" was never mentioned onscreen.
- Mel's meeting with the Doctor would have been revealed had the following season not been suspended.
- In The Stolen Earth, the Sub-Wave Network used by Harriet Jones was developed by the Mr Copper Foundation.
- Graeme Harper also worked as a crew member on stories featuring the Second, Third and Fourth Doctors.
- Space stations visited by the Doctor include Space Station W3, Space Station J7, Nerva Beacon, Time Station, Game Station and Platform One.
