The Doctor and Rose travel to another planet in search of the Brothers Hop Pyleen, more Platform One guests...
Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]
The Doctor and Rose arrive on Astro-Race Day. Skip is readying his Hyposlip 500 Lightspeed-Podule for its first-ever space race. As the race starts, a huge ship appears and starts blasting the ships and using a tractor beam, takes them all on board.
The Doctor, having always wanted to drive one of the pods, goes in pursuit. He is followed closely by Rose and Skip's mechanic, Jumo, in a pod awaiting repairs and prone to power surges. The Doctor's pod is damaged and taken on board, where the Doctor overhears Skip's plan to sell the Hyposlip-500's technology for ten trillion to the Rakkonoids, a race of galactic techno-thieves. Skip had hoped his treachery would be unknown, but when Rose and Jumo crash into the ship, chaos ensues.
Once the Doctor has piloted the ship back to the cliff-top launch site, Skip and the Rakkonoids are led away by the authorities. Jumo tells the Doctor and Rose that his bosses, the Brothers Hop Pyleen, will be grateful and want to thank them, but they have disappeared.
No closer to tracking the other Platform One survivors, the Doctor and Rose leave in the TARDIS, still looking for answers.

Notes[[edit] | [edit source]]
- Supporting the series of collectible Doctor Who trading cards, the magazine carried a regular four page, individually titled comic strip of the Tenth Doctor's adventures.
- The artwork and colours were bold and bright, reflecting the tone of the magazine and, as did Doctor Who Adventures, it reflected the appeal to readers younger than those catered to by Doctor Who Magazine.
- The Battles in Time comic strip often sought to associate its Doctor with the one seen on screen with "props" from the TV series: blue/brown suit, intelligent-looking glasses, sonic screwdriver and psychic paper. Apart from the brown suit and long coat, none appeared in this strip.
