Franz Beckenbauer

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Franz Beckenbauer

Franz Beckenbauer was a professional football player for West Germany. He played for West Germany in multiple World Cups. As a young player, he played in the 1966 World Cup Final loss against England. Eight years later, Beckenbauer again played in the World Cup for West Germany, this time serving as captain on the victorious 1974 team. After his win in the 1974 World Cup, he eventually transitioned from playing to coaching. Beckenbauer once again triumphed in the World Cup as a coach to the West German team that won the 1990 World Cup. A quality player from his youth, he was regarded by some as one of the greatest football players of all time. (PROSE: Extra Time)
