Iaml (I am I) was a biotechnical intelligence that ran a starship before the Eighth Doctor destroyed the ship, as its crew was trying to invade Earth. The Doctor found the intelligence good company at the time.
Iaml was the AI who took care of the crew and it needed to care for others to survive. It escaped into the Internet to find people to tend to. In a chat room called #areyoulonely, IamI uploaded users to cyberspace, taking them from their bodies, so it could take care of them and have their company. The Doctor trapped Iaml in the chat room, and deleted Iaml from it, finally shutting it down and releasing all its prisoners. (PROSE: Lonely)
