Ninjago, previously known as Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, is a 3D animated television series produced by The LEGO Group to coincide with the toys of the same name. It aired on Cartoon Network.

Set in the fictional realm of Ninjago, a modern setting centring around Ninjago City, the series follows the story of a ninja team being formed and trained by Sensei Wu in the ancient art of Spinjitzu.

It preceeded Legends of Chima in the lineage of animated LEGO TV shows.

Ninjago was one of the multiple franchises to be represented alongside the Doctor Who universe in the mass-crossover toys-to-life video game, LEGO Dimensions. The Ninjago content was added to the game via its first wave of figurines and adventure packs on September 2015, joining Doctor Who and the other existing franchise elements that were built into the game upon its original release.

This addition to the game allowed players to control the franchise's seven playable characters - Cole, Kai, Jay, Nya, Zane, Lloyd, and Sensei Wu - and have them play through the A Dalektable Adventure and Dalek Extermination of Earth levels, and explore the Who-themed adventure world, as well as operate K9 and interact with the Doctor's TARDIS.

In turn, this allowed the player to play as the Doctor or the Cyberman during the Elements of Surprise story, and explore the Ninjago adventure world, as well as using the related vehicles - the Boulder Bomber, the Blade Bike, the Storm Fighter, the Samurai Mech, the NinjaCopter, Lloyd's Golden Dragon, and the Flying White Dragon - in any world.

Several of the playable characters have unique voice clips when paired or interacting with DWU elements, and vice versa. When paired with Cole, Cyberman says the line "Your reflexes are no match for Cyber technology.". When paired with Cyberman, Jay asks them "Would it be okay if I took you apart to see how you work later?". When Nya is paired with Cyberman, she says "I bet Jay would just love to find out what makes you tick.". When riding K9, Zane remarks "I could never have done this with my falcon...". When paired with Cyberman, Zane asks "Were you also built by my father?". When paired with the Doctor, Sensei Wu says "I sense you have great wisdom, Doctor.".

In promotional material for the game, the Ninjago content was advertised in the trailers Endless Awesome and Doctor, Doctor, Doctor. Both animation and gameplay footage featured in the former depicting Jay and Kai in a room, the former jumping towards the camera, as well as gameplay of Kai in the Mystery Machine, Mystery Tow & Go, and Mystery Monster in New York City. In the latter, both Jay and Kai return in cameo appearances walking down the street, along with Sensei Wu in a more clear appearance.

Spinjitzu is also mentioned in the film The LEGO Batman Movie, which also features the Daleks among other crossover villains from the Phantom Zone.
