Parson's nose

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Parson's nose

A parson's nose was part of dressed and cooked poultry from a chicken or turkey. In July of 1543, the First Doctor and Susan Foreman ate a dinner with King Henry VIII of England where parson's noses were served. (PROSE: The Time Lord Letters) The King and Doctor quarrelled, resulting in Henry throwing a parson's nose at the Doctor, which the Doctor threw back at him. This argument was intentional by the Doctor, so that he might be sentenced to the Tower of London, where the TARDIS was located. The incident was well before the Doctor met Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright, and he later told them about it when the group reminisced on their adventures aboard the TARDIS shortly after it landed on an Earth spaceship above the Sense Sphere (TV: The Sensorites)
