Public school

A public school was a type of school in England. They were defined as schools that were open to anyone from anywhere in the country who paid the fees; although the Twelfth Doctor noted that they were therefore only open to those with money. In the late 19th century, they were regulated by the Public Schools Act of 1868. (PROSE: A History of Humankind)
