Roger Mellie: The Man on the Telly is a comic strip published in Viz which was created by Chris Donald and was first published in July 1981. The series later gained an animated television series in 1991.

The series stars the titular Roger Mellie, the "Man on the Telly", an incompetent, foul-mouthed, and mysogynistic television presenter who appears on networks such as Fulchester Television and the BBC, along with the character of Tom, who generally acts as Roger's straight man.

Roger Mellie was among the strips to be featured in the mass-crossover comic The Totally Stonking, Surprisingly Educational, and Utterly Mindboggling Comic Relief Comic, published on 16 February 1991 for Comic Relief.

The comic was introduced by its Roger Mellie strip, which ended with Lenny Henry splatting a custard pie in Mellie's face, smoothly continuing on to the rest of the comic. A later part of the story would feature a scene featuring every then-existing mainline incarnation of the Doctor, along with various other elements of the Doctor Who universe, such as a Cyberman.
