More actions
Tom was an associate of Roger Mellie.
Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]
For Red Nose Day 1991, Tom approached Roger Mellie with a request to do a special favour for charity. Explaining what Comic Relief was, he let Roger know that Comic Relief were producing a new book, and that they wanted Roger to do the introduction, but that he needed to keep it clean.
While in the lift, Roger asked what his cut of the profits would be, with Tom telling him that nobody would be getting paid as the profits went straight to charity, although Roger didn't properly understand this.
In the studio, Tom asked Roger to stop drinking, shortly before the broadcast began. Watching on, Tom remarked that Roger was on his very best behaviour, although just as Roger was finishing the introduction, Lenny Henry splatted him in the face with a custard pie, aggravating Roger, with Tom reminding him that it was just a rehearsal.
