The Sixth Doctor has featured in many novels since his debut in TV: The Caves of Androzani in 1984.

Target novelisations[[edit] | [edit source]]

In 1974, Target Books began a range of novel-length adaptations of Doctor Who television stories. This range continued until 1994.

Target Missing Episodes[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Target Missing Episodes was a series of novels published by Target Books as a spin-off of their regular Doctor Who novelisations line.

They were novelisations of scripts written for season 23 but never produced due to the decision to proceed with The Trial of a Time Lord story arc instead.

Virgin Missing Adventures[[edit] | [edit source]]

In 1994, Virgin Books began a series of novels featuring past Doctors, called the Missing Adventures. Five of these featured the Sixth Doctor and his companions.

After taking the license for Doctor Who novels from Virgin Books in 1996, BBC Books began to publish a series of Doctor Who novels. Ten of these focused exclusively on the Sixth Doctor, and two featured him alongside other incarnations.
