Skiffle band

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
Skiffle band

A skiffle band was a type of musical group.

In 1958, Brian "Ahab" Melville was part of a skiffle band called The Geeks when he met the Doctor, who played washboard for the group. (PROSE: Beautiful Chaos [+]Loading...["Beautiful Chaos (novel)"])

Marcus Butler knew that, in the 1960s, his father played in a skiffle band; they usually busked on the streets, but occasionally got gigs. A bloke in a leather jacket — the Ninth Doctor — would sometimes join in with the band, playing spoons. Marcus wrote about this on the Doctor Who? website in early 2005. Bobby belonged to a skiffle band. When the Silver Cloak met aboard a Sparrow Lane tour bus, Wilfred Mott asked Bobby to get in touch with them to inquire about a blue police box. (TV: The End of Time [+]Loading...["The End of Time (TV story)"])
