Taggani or Brian?[[edit source]]

If there are difference opinions, I'm happy to discuss. My reading of the policy was literal. Let me quote: "In most cases, you should title an article with the first and last name of a character. But you should use the last name by which the character was most often known. This means that married names should usually be avoided when titling articles." So my understanding is this:

  1. If the first and last name are known, they should be used for the name of the page.
  2. If there are variants for the first name (short/long) or for the last name (maiden/married), then the most commonly used is chosen.

So it was always my understanding that nicknames, assumed names, aliases, pen names, hack names and the lot are only to be used if the real name is not known.

Having said that, Taggani is definitely used more often than Brian Carrios.

And I can come up with an exception to the above rule: River Song is not Melody Pond, despite the redirect. My own explanation for this is that River Song is also first/last name, and the one that was used more often than Melody Malone. Amorkuz 23:35, August 2, 2016 (UTC)
