The Doctor (Time Is Everything)

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
This topic might have a better name.

Seperate page is cool, but it needs to be Fourth Doctor as the infocard in the blu-ray specifically says he's that albeit this is probably a timeline where he didn't regenerate

Talk about it here.

An aged version of the Fourth Doctor [1]was an incarnation of the Doctor that continued to live adventures inside his TARDIS and was very concerned with "planning for the future".

He knew of the Krakenoids' extinction, images from which could be summoned on his TARDIS scanner. In addition to a sonic screwdriver, the Doctor also possessed a device called the Berillian time transformer, which made it easier to shape or predict the future, though it had a tendency to malfunction.

While in his console room, this Doctor had a tendency to meditate about his ability to plan for the future, being fond of the observation that in some way, any 20th century human who knew the telephone number of the savings plan-granting Superannuation Services could do the same. When he said something along those lines, the phone number in question usually appeared on the TARDIS scanner screen.

One of these instances was shortly after the Doctor escaped some heated conflict by stepping into the TARDIS, continuing to buzz his sonic screwdriver at the threat through the closed inner door for a few seconds before he headed to the console and set the controls. Once he was through with his explanation of the savings plan, he then landed in the peaceful countryside of New Zealand, to his delight. (TV: Time Is Everything)

Appearance[[edit] | [edit source]]

This incarnation resembled an aged version of his fourth incarnation, with white hair, (TV: Time Is Everything) much like the Doctor's distant future self the Curator documented in other accounts, (TV: The Day of the Doctor, PROSE: The Day of the Doctor, COMIC: The Then and the Now).

This incarnation of the Doctor's attire consisted of a red scarf and heavy coat thrown over a Victorian shirt with black cravat and vertical stripes waistcoat; he often, though not always, wore a black wide-brimmed hat to complete this, (TV: Time Is Everything) much as he had done when wearing a younger, similar face. (TV: Robot, Logopolis, etc.)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • This Doctor bears a close resemblance to Introduction to the Night's Doctor, the Shada VHS release's Doctor and The Day of the Doctor's the Curator, all being aged, unnumbered incarnations of the Doctor played by an older Tom Baker. Whether they are intended to be the same version is unknown, and, at any rate, only the Curator appears in material considered valid by this Wiki.
  • Paper ads from the same time published in the New Zealand Herald gave further details on this incarnation and his adventures. The 4 February 1997 stated that he was 764 year old (interestingly paralleling the Introduction to the Night Doctor later giving his age as being around 700), and "a Time Lord from the planet Gallefrey in the constellation of Casterbrious" [sic]. The 11 February issue shows a good picture of his screwdriver.
