The Doctor needs YOUR help!, or Comic Relief 2019, was a short segment broadcast on 15 March 2019 during that year's Comic Relief fundraiser. It saw the Thirteenth Doctor encouraging viewers to donate to Comic Relief.

Synopsis[[edit] | [edit source]]

Doctor Who star, Jodie Whittaker, has some advice for those of you donating to Comic Relief from planets... that we can't quite figure out.

Plot[[edit] | [edit source]]

The TARDIS materialises in a poorly lit, empty warehouse. The Thirteenth Doctor steps out of the TARDIS and addresses the audience directly drawing attention to those watching in the UK and from Quicksarpantagarus. The Doctor then adds that Earth is not the only planet to have Comic Relief.

The Doctor explains that UK taxpayers on Earth should say yes when donating to Comic Relief so that their donation is increased by 25% thanks to Gift Aid. The Doctor then goes on to clarify, to those donating on Quicksarpantagarus, that donations are no longer accepted in trynties and will only be accepted in kavlons and krins.

The Doctor then recaps the UK donation instructions adding, "That's Doctor's orders!". The Doctor then pulls out her sonic screwdriver, as she says thank you, points the screwdriver at the viewer and activates it. The screen morphs into a "Say Yes to Gift Aid" message.

Story notes[[edit] | [edit source]]

  • The scene has Jodie Whittaker in character as the Doctor, but the description attached to the official Youtube upload of the clip erroneously suggests that it is actually Whittaker talking as herself
