- Alistair Sr. and Lillian live at the family estate in Glen Cladach, Appin, Scotland. He had inherited the estate 20 years ago, but by then both of his sons were starting families of their own.
- The war is over when Alistair Sr. learns of his son Gordon Conall Lethbridge-Stewart's MIA status.
- Alistair is 16-years-old.
- Gordon wrote the note on 2 April 1938, days after James Lethbridge-Stewart's funeral.

- Gordon mentions that Archibald said he told his fellow soldiers in Ypres in 1914 that he had two sons, even though his second son with his wife had not been born yet. (TV: Twice Upon a Time)

- This story claims Matthew Lethbridge-Stewart only had female children, while in PROSE: Inheritance he is depicted as having two sons and a daughter (Violet).
