Commentator Theta Sigma was a version of the Doctor who existed in an alternate timeline where Rassilon failed to finish the Eye of Harmony before his death. In the "proper" timeline, "Theta Sigma" was the Doctor's name, (TV: The Armageddon Factor [+]Loading...["The Armageddon Factor (TV story)"], PROSE: K9 and the Beasts of Vega [+]Loading...["K9 and the Beasts of Vega (novel)"]) although according to later accounts, it was merely his nickname at the Academy.
